Clarence ran the hardware store through out the 60's and into the 70's. My mother worked at the hardware store as teen and young adult. Once Clarence retired, he passed the hardware store down to another family member my Uncle Ken. Ken ran the hardware store into the 80's and eventually closed the doors to focus on family and other projects. Ken is a fantastic musician and also owned a music store where he sold and repaired musical instruments.
During the early 80's Ken started pursuing a career remodeling homes. Earls Remodeling is born. Ken worked on new homes and remodels all over the Chicago land area. Shortly after I graduated from high school I was lucky enough to work with Ken for several years before he retired. After he retired I continued to work with the people he introduced me to gaining knowledge and experience.
In 2009 I officially took over the family business. Since then my network of customers and business partners has only grown. I'm very lucky to have the loyal customers I have, and I'm very fortunate to get to work alongside some of the best tradesmen around.
The name Earl's has been in business for over 50 years. My Grandfather Earl opened up a hardware store on the southwest side of Chicago in 1963. Just before the grand opening of Earls Hardware, he suddenly passed away. My Grandmother sold the business to a family member my Great Uncle Clarence.
